Timeless fonts for modern typography

At ArrowType, I strive to create fonts that are useful and beautiful, tell a story, and push technical boundaries.

I named my studio ArrowType because I am fascinated by the countless possibilities of written language and typography, and arrow notation is a way to write really, really big numbers. (I also just really like arrows, and I make sure that every one of my fonts includes at least a solid basic set of them. → ↓ ← ↑!)

Before going into type design full time, I worked as a digital product designer and brand experience designer. I’ve always loved drawing letters, so on the side of those day jobs, I spent my time making experimental fonts and lettering. I eventually took a leap of faith, studying type design in the TypeMedia MA program at the Royal Academy, in The Hague, Netherlands, where I graduated in 2018. Since then, I’ve been lucky to work with and learn from some of the best type designers and font engineers in the world. ArrowType is my way of publishing my own fonts, helping others to create their own fonts, and giving back to the type community through shared knowledge.
